Protecting the ‘Blue Economy’ – new article in The Maritime Executive

In the latest edition of The Maritime Executive, my article looks at different maritime security threats in West Africa. Since the magazine’s core readership is working in the shipping industry, the effect of different threats on merchant vessels is the main focus.

At the same time, the article underlines that governments throughout the region should have an interest to invest in better maritime security. If the ‘blue economy’ grows, it will provide additional resources which can then be spent in other areas such as education, infrastructure or healthcare.
